4.3 Create Customer Voice template
If you use Customer Voice as your survey system, templates are created in Customer Voice.
4.3.1 Create a Customer Voice project
If you haven’t created a survey template before, you must start with creating a project.
-
Open Customer Voice by clicking on the link in the navigation menu in ShareControl Transparency or by opening https://customervoice.microsoft.com.
-
Click on All projects in the menu on the left.
-
Click on the New project button in the upper right.
-
Customer Voice provides different project templates to start from. Select the Blank template.
-
Next, Customer Voice will ask in which location you want to create your project. You should create it in the same location where the ShareControl Transparency app is installed. Usually, this location is also called ShareControl Transparency. If unsure, contact your IT admin for help.
-
You should now be presented with the survey editor. Before you start designing your survey, you should rename the project appropriately. Click on All projects in the menu on the left. Then, find your new project in the list and click on the three dots ( ⁝ ) to its right to open a menu. Select Rename and write ShareControl Transparency.
You can give your project a different name, but it has to include ShareControl in its name to be recognized by the app.
4.3.2 Share a Customer Voice project
You need to share the project with people who should be able to create and edit survey templates. They will also be able to delete surveys from ShareControl Transparency.
-
Open Customer Voice by clicking on the link in the navigation menu in ShareControl Transparency or by opening https://customervoice.microsoft.com.
-
Click on All projects in the menu on the left.
-
Find the project you want to share in the list and click on the three dots ( ⁝ ) to its right to open a menu.
-
Select Share.
-
The sharing panel will appear on the right. Enter the people you want to share the project with under Share with. When done, click the blue Share button in the lower right to share the project.
4.3.3 Create survey template
When a project has been created, you can start designing your survey.
-
Open Customer Voice by clicking on the link in the navigation menu in ShareControl Transparency or by opening https://customervoice.microsoft.com.
-
Click on All projects in the menu on the left.
-
Find the project you want to create a survey for in the list and click on the project name.
-
Select the survey you want to edit in the menu on the left or click New survey to create a new one. You can have multiple surveys in the same project.
Customer Voice supports creating surveys in multiple languages. When you first create a new survey, you will need to add the questions in the root language. The root language is the language you use Customer Voice in and cannot be changed for a survey after creation. You can check the root language for a survey by clicking on the Customization tab on the right and then select Languages. For more information on this, we recommend to read Create a multilingual survey (Microsoft Docs).
-
Click on the survey title to edit the title or add a description. Make sure you write the title and description in the root language.
-
Click on the Add new button to add a new question. You can select between multiple different question types where Choice and Text probably are the most common. Make sure you write the questions in the root language.
For more information on how to create a survey in Customer Voice, we recommend to read Create a survey (Microsoft Docs).
A survey template in English and Norwegian created by Share Control is available in the app as an Excel file. Click on Resources in the navigation menu and download the “Survey Template for Customer Voice” file. Unfortunately Customer Voice doesn’t support importing templates, but you can copy and paste these questions into Customer Voice to use it as a survey.
4.3.4 Add a translation to a survey template
When you have finished creating your survey template in its root language, you can add translations to other languages.
-
Open Customer Voice by clicking on the link in the navigation menu in ShareControl Transparency or by opening https://customervoice.microsoft.com.
-
Click on All projects in the menu on the left.
-
Find the project where the survey you want to add a translation for is located in the list and click on the project name.
-
Click on the Customization tab on the right and then select Languages.
-
Click on Add language and select all the languages you want to add translations for. Click outside the dropdown menu when done.
-
You can add translations manually by clicking on each language, or you can import the translations from Excel by downloading the template under Advanced Options, fill it out, and then import it with the Upload button. We advice the latter.
The survey template provided by Share Control on the Resources page includes Norwegian and English translations. If you have created your survey based on this template, you can simply copy over the translations to the Excel template and import it. Make sure you copy the correct translations for each question.
