9.3 Budget and forecast

The forecast spreadsheet is where you can get short-term and long-term estimates of future financial outcomes of contracts. In this tab you get an overview of future payments for the selected budget- or forecast period.

There are several choices.

1) Choice of period: This is done in Lookup periods by setting a start date and an end date for the period you want budgeted / forecast.

2) Selection of frequency: Choose between monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

You can also enter a number, which represents the number of months in each column. If you type, for example “2”, the data in each column is the sum forecast, calculated for two months. If “18” is entered, the data in each column is the forecast for one-and-half years.

3) Choice of contract values: This is done in Options. The choices are all fixed current contract payments, one-time payments, other contract payments, or the sum of these payments.

4) Choice of grouping: You can sort by contract (Empty field), company, department or contract type.

Filters can also be set. You can make a choice of Company, Department, etc. (See Chapter 9.2.4 - Search filters).
